What things to see & do in Hong Kong
Victoria Peak
A must see destination for any tourist visiting Hong Kong is Victoria Peak, also known as The Peak. The effort taken to travel to this vista, will be repaid in spades. This is one of those views that will take your breath away and you will want to stay here for at least a couple of hours. Don’t forget to take your camera, phone, selfie stick and any other photography gear that you have with you in Hong Kong.
A top tip is to find out when the sun goes down and get there an hour or so before. By doing this, the scene before your eyes will change by the minute with light and shade moving gradually across the city until complete darkness – leaving just the city lights, which sparkle like jewels. If you have a few days in Hong Kong, you can try visiting at different times of the day as the view changes so much with the weather and time of day.
The most scenic route to travel to The Peak is to take the Peak Tram from the MTR station in Central. It is recommended to purchase a Peak Tram Sky Pass, which gives access to the Sky Terrace, which is the highest viewing terrace in Hong Kong.
Another travel option for The Peak is to take a standard number 15 bus or taxi, depending on whereabouts in the city you are staying, and this will help to avoid any queues of people waiting for the tram.
